Outernauts

Outernauts is an upcoming sci-fi themed Facebook social game from Insomniac Games, the studio behind Resistance and Ratchet.

Designed more complicated than most social games, Outernauts fuses social elements with adventure and role-playing elements. Set in distant outer space, it will involve players in a journey exploring numerous islands floating in the air, capturing, taming and training alien beasts, battling space pirates, challenging evil groups, collecting loots, and unraveling the mystery of an ancient civilization.

Sporting 3 vs. 3 combat, Outernauts has demanding requirements in terms of battling strategies. For example, you have to determine the skills and beasts to be used dedicatedly to kill the very enemy you are confronted with.

Feel free to join friends in instance dungeons. That does not necessarily mean that you must enter the region simultaneously with your friends. Pick a time at your convenience and do whatever you want. The enemies and obstacles you have cleared in your way won’t be there anymore and thus your friends don’t have to repeat your work when they enter this dungeon.

As the first social game from a developer that has been leading the console game markets for two decades, Outernauts is bound to invite lots of focus and anticipation. Being currently in closed beta, this game is expected to enter open beta this summer.
