Mystery Manor is just such a HOG which takes place in a creepy mansion. The whole place is shrouded in inexplicable mysteries. You have to finish multiple puzzles before you can find out the truth. Along the way, you will run into different characters who lead you to carry on your exploration by giving you clues or quests. Nothing is flawless. And this game is blamed for its repetitive puzzles and monotonous scenes, but it is still worth a try.
