Overview

For Star Trek fans who want something more than just Star Trek Online, the upcoming Star Trek: Infinite Space will be a good choice.

Featuring 3D graphics, MMO and RTS, the free-to-play browser game offers players with a brand-new experience of space adventure. Set in the Deep Space Nine timeline, the game has kept highlights of the previous titles, including spaceship, alliance, and war of territories.

Storyline and game missions of the title have strictly followed the TV series. Gamers must choose between two playable factions, the Federation or Klingon in the beginning of the game. The game allows players to select their own vessel from many authentic Star Trek spaceships, thus embarking on missions and freely explore star sectors.

In the spaceflight journey, players will experience rise in level, gathering special ship equipment or mastering skills by building up their own crew. The title provides three types of mission for players with participation of those well-known figures from the TV series. Players can tackle missions on their own or join fellow captains for cooperation. Of course the level of difficulty will automatically adjust on the number of players involved in the mission. In addition, the game has incorporated the Player vs Player sector, enabling gamers to fight each other.

With space fights remaining the major part of the game, the iconic space station will serve as lobbies for players where they can walk around, chat with other players or even start a mission together. Exploration of uncharted space and encounter with other races stand out as another hotspot. As revealed by Adam, VP of Production of Gameforge, players would have optional purchase options in terms of appearance, vessel decorations as well as other items. What’s more, music legend Chris Hülsbeck will create the score for the title.

Though no precise date yet, the game is set to be released in 2012. And Bigpoint may take over the distribution rights to co-publish it.
